Sacred Heart women's golfer Joanne Martorana (Randolph, NJ) shot an 81 on the final day of the Morris County Park Commission Women's Amateur Tournament to protect a three-stroke lead and come home with her second title at the event held earlier this month. Martorana carded a two-day total of 158 to win for the second time in three years.

Heading into the final 18-holes at Flanders Valley White to Blue Course, her home course for the last nine years, Martorana held a three-stroke lead on the field. After opening the round with three-straight bogeys she steadied and held off defending champion Jane Kuhfuss over the final 15 holes en route to the win. She opened play by shooting a 77 in the first round held at Pinch Brook.

Martorana had a tremendous spring to help lead the Pioneers to their first-ever tournmanet victory at the University of Hartford Invitational and a best-ever second place finish at the 2008 Northeast Conference Championship.
