Final Stats

EASTON, Pa. (September 8, 2006) - The Sacred Heart volleyball team lost in three games to Saint Peter's College Friday night in the opening match of the Lafayette College Tournament. The Peahens posted wins of 30-27, 30-28 and 33-31 to pick up the win. SHU falls to 1-3 with the loss.

The Pioneers were led by senior outside hitter Justina Bell (Holcomb, KS) who posted a team-high 10 kills. She completed the double double with a game-high 15 digs as well as three service aces and a block assist.

Also picking up double digit digs was junior Sam McMillan (Manassas, VA) who had 11 and passed out 32 assists as well. McMillan also served up three aces on the night. Sophomore defensive specialist Katie Thomas (Wappingers Falls, NY) chimed in with 10 digs of her own. Senior captain Charnette Porter (Framingham, MA) finished with nine kills.

Saint Peter's was led by Serra Soylu who finished with 12 kills and a .357 (12-2-28) hitting percentage. Sasha Pshenychka had 10 kills in the win.

The Pioneers return to play tomorrow morning when they take on the host Leopards at 10 am and then face Fairleigh Dickinson at 2:30 pm.
